Requesting Deletion of Your Protelino Account
This page explains how to request deletion of your Protelino account and the data associated with it, developed by Julian Waluschyk. It applies to any account created within the Protelino app (the app for tracking PKU, MSUD, Tyrosinemia Type 1, Homocystinuria, Isovaleric Acidemia, and other metabolic conditions).
Option 1: Delete your account in the app
If you still have the app installed and can sign in, this is the fastest way:
- Open Protelino and go to Profile / Settings.
- Tap Account.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Confirm twice when prompted - this is a deliberate two-step confirmation, since the action is permanent and cannot be undone.
Option 2: Request deletion by email
If you no longer have the app installed, can't sign in, or would rather not use the app to do this, send an email to support@protelino.com from the email address associated with your account, with the subject line "Delete my account". We will process the request manually. Deletion requests submitted this way are completed within 30 days.
What gets deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes, from Protelino's servers: your account itself (email address and sign-in identity), every profile associated with that account, all logged meals and nutrient data, blood spot/lab values, custom foods, favorites, AI Scan usage records, and the link between your account and any subscription. This happens immediately once the deletion is confirmed - it is not held for a separate retention period on our side.
What is not affected by account deletion
Protelino can be used entirely without an account: on the free plan, all profile, meal, and lab-value data is stored only on your own device and is never sent to our servers at all. Deleting an account has no effect on that on-device data - to remove it, delete the individual profiles within the app, or uninstall the app itself. Separately, Apple, Google, and RevenueCat (our subscription-management provider) retain their own purchase and billing transaction records independently of Protelino, as required by their own policies and by applicable tax and accounting law - deleting your Protelino account does not delete those records, and any active subscription must be cancelled separately through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings.
Automatic deletion after a long-lapsed subscription
Separately from the two options above, and without you needing to do anything: if a Protelino Pro subscription has stayed expired, with no renewal, for 48 consecutive months, the data that was synced to our servers under that account (profiles, logged meals, blood spot/lab values, custom foods, favorites) is automatically and permanently deleted. This does not delete your account itself - you can still sign in afterward - and it has no effect on data stored only on your own device. See the App Privacy Policy, Section 9, for the full policy this implements.
